Painting Fresh Florals in Watercolor by Arleta Pech
Easy-to-master artistic secrets for capturing the beauty
of flowers in vibrant watercolor renderings. For more than 25 years, Arleta
Pech has been dazzling the art world with her strikingly realistic watercolor
compositions. Now artists can learn to utilize her trademark techniques
by following this guide's complete demonstrations for painting irises,
magnolias, roses, peonies, apple blossoms, tulips-even delicate china and
lacework. Starting with the basics, beginners can learn to successfully
render transparent petals, luminous colors and a variety of delicate floral
shapes and glazing techniques for building depth of color. Her work
was discovered by Mill Pond Press in 1989 and since that time she has traveled
widely for gallery shows, tours, print signings and research trips.

I have many flower books, but this one by far is the best.
After purchasing many watercolor books on flowers and realizing they just
didn't fit my needs, I was hesitant to purchase another one. But after
seing Basic Flower Painting, I succumbed and am thrilled with the instructions
and the step by step demos that are the most helpful of all. The
price is so reasonable for what is provided in the content, and the colors
are as vibrant as in a much more expensive book. I couldn't ask for anything
more. I recommend it to any level artist whether beginner or advanced.
There's something for everyone in it.

One of the BEST books on watercolor floral painting! This is
one of those books that you read from cover to cover, cause you just can't
get enough! After following Jan's instructions on the 40% rule of shadows,
my florals now not only glow, but they have taken on a real three dimensional
look!!
A reader from Tualatin, Oregon , August 5, 1998 Excellent
book for the beginning to intermediate artist This book is
perhaps my favorite watercolor book. Jan Kunz is very clear and informative
about color and light, design and technique, and she gives great step by
step examples to illustrate how to paint.
