The powerful, stylized realism of Cary Austin caught
the attention of art collectors with The Wheat Field, which won
a Society of Illustrator Gold medal and became Austin's second Greenwich
Workshop limited edition print, following The Storm.
His depiction of a small town, circa 1930, is rich
in colour, design, and deeply felt warmth. "Every new painting I do is
an exploration for me," says the young artist. "I wanted to celebrate small
American towns by filling this image with many things to discover and enjoy.
I also wanted to do it in an especially artistic way by playing with the
perspective, essentially giving the viewer a bird's-eye view." - Cary Austin
