The Victorian
Heide tells us: "I love the way this old mission
looks (it's the same location as my first print, Dance of the Sun). This
is the San Jose Mission...built in the mid-1700's by Spanish Franciscans
who taught the Native Americans. I like the juxtaposition of the wonderful
textures of the old stone surface and the big double wooden doors...and
the faded colors of the crumbling limestone and the hand-carved figures,
including angels."
