| The
islands off the coast of New England and eastern Canada lie peaceful and
dreamlike in the blue atlantic. My Island expresses the tranquility
that Charlotte Sternberg has discovered in her travels along this coast.
"There's a serenity one acquires living close to the sea," she says.
"There is a lot happening on My Island, but it's still very peaceful.
I created My Island out of my imagination, but I didn't so much make up
the scene as let it happen. The activities of the people and the
animals, the placement of shops, gardens and marketplaces came into existence
naturally." My Island, an imaginary place with a reality all its
own, is another of Charlotte Sternberg's delightful works. |
