"Nothing quite compares to the thrill of seeing a wild leopard
for the first time. On a night drive in South Africa, as we scanned the
blackness with a flashlight, we picked out the golden glow of a pair of
eyes watching us. As we approached, we realized that it was a female leopard.
She was very relaxed and allowed to admire her for several minutes before
melting away into the African night. It was one of the most haunting
