This is an environmental wall hanging, termed a Green Quilt". There are 2 images stripped in a rotation - a garden and the back end of a cement truck. This artwork was inspired by the folk singer Joni Mitchells Lyrics "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got til its gone. They paved paradise and put in a parking lot."
This quilt received an Ontario Craft Council Award of artist merit and was featured on the cover of Canada Quilt Magazine. It was also juried into the 'Quilters' Heritage celebration in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. |
